Application Suggestions and Worked Examples
|
Here are some recently completed write-ups of how you can use eValid on some unusual applications:
-
Google Spreadsheets:
This Google.Doc spreadsheet program is implemented
entirely with JavaScript and it is a true AJAX application
that interacts continuously with the user.
Our write-up shows how eValid can work to use structural
commands that are immune to various changes in the way the
individual pages are organized.
-
All-Email-Based Monitoring:
Most of the time RIA monitoring is done from one or more
machines and reported into a larger monitoring system.
(Our RIA Monitoring Demo
is an example of how this works).
But what if you don't want all that?
This write-up shows how eValid can perform
critical monitoring functions
with all of the reporting done by email.
-
Google Text Documents:
Handling AJAX text documents can be tricky, because they
often change dynamically as the AJAX process updates the
current data.
Here again, eValid structural testing commands come to the rescue,
and yield reliable, effective, and non-brittle tests.
-
Component Performance Checking:
Here is an eValid configuration and setup that lets you use the built in EventLog
Detailed Timing option to study how individual page components arrive after the parent
page has been downloaded. Did you know that in an AJAX application, "Done" may NOT mean "done".
Using eValid as the driver (in Pause or Breakpoint mode)...
