1. SR Has Moved!

Last weekend we moved to a new Corporate Headquarters facility. Any move
entails a reorganization, and we used this opportunity to rearrange our
facility so that we can be more efficient and effective in our service to
our customers. In addition, our new facility gives us lots of room for
   future growth.

We keep the same phones, E-mail, and zipcode. Only the street and number
   change:

      Software Research, Inc.
      1663 Mission Street, Suite 400
      San Francisco, CA 94103 USA

We invite you to stop by and visit if you are in the neighborhood!

2. TollFree Number Calling Problem

In the past week or so you may have experienced difficulty in reaching SR
on our TollFree number (available in the USA only). Because of
circumstances beyond our control this number was temporarily out of service
Service is being restored ASAP. In the meanwhile, in case you get a "We're
sorry but this call cannot be completed as dialed" message you can reach us
at +1 (415) 861-2800. We apologize for any inconvenience.

4. CAPBAK/Web Ver. 1.4 for Windows/95/NT Available

CAPBAK/Web is a "test enabled Web browser" that incorporates all of the
required features for a CAPture/playBAcK system for testing WebSites. The
product is scheduled for formal release later on in March. But we know
that many of those on our installed base list will want to give the most-
   recent version a try.

This latest addition to the TestWorks line of testing tools features:

o Based on the fully featured Internet Explorer (IE) Ver. 4.0 Web
         browser.

o True-time manual recording and automatically synchronized playback.
You never have to worry about whether a page has completely loaded
before playback continues. In other words, playback synchronization
         is built in.

o Faithfully records user actions from all types of HTML constructions
including links and anchors, forms, options, JavaScript, ASP, etc.

o Manual scripting by writing in "C". Each test is a separate "C"
         function.

o Built-in 1 millisecond-resolution timer which you can set and read
whenever you wish. This timer capability was used in the P4 and P4+
metrics that are available from our WebSite.

o Customizable through local environment variables that control a range
of features, delay values, and other adjustables.

o Comprehensive online examples and documentation that is updated and
improved and instantly available from our WebSite.

o Full integration with SMARTS, our hierarchical test management
         system.

of March 1999. Simply replace this key with the single line of text shown
below. You will need to put the license file in the default installation

That will be a text file only, MUST be ALL ONE LINE with a single space in
between each field, and will have to be typed exactly as it is here with
all punctuation and characters in the same UPPER or lower case as you
receive them. Please note that linefolds used below for formatting
purposes will have to be removed. installed with this as exactly as you
can; please REMOVE the linefold and join the two half-lines in the license

5. Technical Point Of Contact (TPOC)

Our records show _you_ as the person acting as the Technical Point Of
Contact (TPOC) for TestWorks information for your organization. If that's
correct there's nothing to be done; you'll continue to receive this memo by
   email.

The TPOC is the main person in charge of receiving information about all
TestWorks products at your installation. This person might be your
system-admin or the TPOC might best be the test lead. There can be several
   TPOC's for a TestWorks installation.

Please email all changes, corrections, and additions to users@soft.com.
Please include your CID number in your email.

6. Recapturing Maintenance Coverage, Obtaining Updates

Times change and projects finish, and sometimes TestWorks products fall out
of use until the next project. Many times it's inevitable that continuous
   maintenance support lapses.

But TestWorks is always changing and when your next project starts you'll
want to make sure you begin with the latest versions of the products.

Our offer to existing TestWorks sites or users who have been out of
maintenance for a year or more is to "recapture" maintenance for only 15%
(compared with our standard 20% annual maintenance fee). We'll re-start
your maintenance and support and ship your keys to the latest TestWorks
products right after we take care of the administrative details.

Contact sales@soft.com for details and be sure to include your CID number
so we can confirm your product licenses and compute your specific
   maintenance recapture fee.
