1. QW'99 Program Summary, Discount Pricing For TestWorks Users
We are pleased to announce the technical program for QW'99. This is sure
to be the best Quality Week Conference we have ever organized.
The complete program is found at:
<http://www.soft.com/QualWeek/QW99/qw99.program.html>
As a TestWorks user (including those who are currently evaluating any
TestWorks products) you are entitled to a 10% discount off the pre-deadline
or post-deadline prices.
To obtain your discount simply fill in your CID number (see above) on the
registration form at the point where it says "Discounts".
2. New TestWorks Windows Regression Builds
Here is a summary of recent major product releases and upgrades:
2.1 TCAT C/C++ for Windows
TCAT/C-C++ for Windows has been upgraded to provide support for Microsoft
Visual C++ Ver. 6. The download (which should work for your current keys)
is at:
<http://www.soft.com/Products/Downloads/down.tcatC21.html>.
TCAT/C-C++ For Windows now supports both Visual Studio for C/C++ Ver. 5 and
Ver. 6 (there are two separate downloads depending on which compiler you
use because the installations are slightly different depending on the
compiler).
2.2 TCAT for Java for Windows
TCAT for Java for Windows has been upgraded to be better integrated with
Microsoft's Visual Java J++, Ver. 6. You can get details at:
<http://www.soft.com/Products/Coverage.msw/tcatj.html>
2.3 TestWorks for Windows Licenses.
The license software for all of the Windows Products (CAPBAK, SMARTS,
TCAT/C-C++ and TCAT for Java) has been reorganized to make management of
the keys simpler. All of the keys for any combination of TestWorks
products can now reside in a single directory.
3. CAPBAK/Web Early Release on Windows 95/NT
We will be making our initial version of CAPBAK/Web [IE] 1.4 available for
download later this week.
This product is described in an extensive "Frequently Asked Questions"
style format at the following [as yet unlinked, you have to type it in] URL
on our WebSite:
<http://www.soft.com/Products/Web/CAPBAK/faq.html>
In addition, CAPBAK/Web generally meets all of the requirements that we set
out in this Technology Note about WebSite verification and validation:
<http://www.soft.com/Products/Web/Technology/challenge.html>

o Full object mode operation for recording and playback of activity on

Versions based on Netscape (Mozilla) and on Amaya coming soon.

If you are interested in trying out this completely new approach to testing
and analyzing your WebSite analysis and testing please send email to
sales@soft.com and request to be put on the early evaluation list.
4. Technical Point Of Contact (TPOC)
Our records show _you_ as the person acting as the Technical Point Of
Contact (TPOC) for TestWorks information for your organization. If that's
correct there's nothing to be done; you'll continue to receive this memo by
email.
The TPOC is the main person in charge of receiving information about all
TestWorks products at your installation. This person might be your
system-admin or the TPOC might best be the test lead. There can be several
TPOC's for a TestWorks installation.
Please email all changes, corrections, and additions to users@soft.com.
Please include your CID number in your email.
5. Recapturing Maintenance Coverage, Obtaining Updates
Times change and projects finish, and sometimes TestWorks products fall out
of use until the next project. Many times it's inevitable that continuous
maintenance support lapses.
But TestWorks is always changing and when your next project starts you'll
want to make sure you begin with the latest versions of the products.
Our offer to existing TestWorks sites or users who have been out of
maintenance for a year or more is to "recapture" maintenance for only 15%
(compared with our standard 20% annual maintenance fee). We'll re-start
your maintenance and support and ship your keys to the latest TestWorks
products right after we take care of the administrative details.
Contact sales@soft.com for details and be sure to include your CID number
so we can confirm your product licenses and compute your specific
maintenance recapture fee.
