This page provides instructions on how to download the executables for TestWorks products on the SPARC/Solaris Ver. 2.5+ and 2.8 environments.

Part 1 describes special properties of the version you are about to download.

Part 2 explains how to set up the Email address for an automatic FTP download.

Part 3 explains how to install the product once you have downloaded it.

Part 4 explains how to manually download a copy of the product using FTP.

Part 5 helps you obtain an access key.

Note: The current version has been tested under Solaris 2.5, 2.7, and 2.8 X11R5/Motif1.x environments. Those running on Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6 may encounter some behaviours which involve SUN patches.

PART 1: About the Software You are About to Download.

• This version of TestWorks/Regression includes:

• This version of TestWorks/Advisor includes:
  • METRIC Ver. 1.3
  • TDGEN Ver. 3.4
  • STATIC Ver. 1.2
• This version of TestWorks/Coverage includes:
  • TCAT C/C++ Ver. 9.2
  • TCAT for Java Ver. 1.0.

PART 2: Automatic FTP Download.

To provide you better overall support in case you have any difficulties, please make sure you use your correct, current Email address during the download process.

If you are using Netscape, for example, you can do this by updating the Email address using "Options > Mail & News Preferences > Identity > Email Address".

PART 3: Product Installation Instructions.

Each downloaded file is a "gzipped TAR" file of the TestWorks bundles.

Simply execute "gunzip" and "tar xvf" into your designated install directory.

Proceed by executing the "install.*" scripts.

PART 4: Manual FTP Download:

If you are manually downloading the product you follow these instructions:

(1) ftp to "ftp.soft.com".

(2) Login as "anonymous".

(3) When prompted for a password, please type your E-mail address.

(4) Go to the following areas depending on the version of the product that you want (Make sure you choose the version for the operating system you are using):

TestWorks/Regression for SPARC/Solaris 2.5+:

TestWorks/Advisor for SPARC/Solaris 2.8:

TestWorks/Advisor for SPARC/Solaris 2.5+:

TestWorks/Coverage C-C++ for SPARC/Solaris 2.8:

(6) Transfer the "TAR.gz" file for SPARC/Solaris 2.5+ bundles using the command "get".

(7) Now go to PART 3 for installation instructions.
