eValid performs all functions needed for detailed
WebSite static and dynamic testing, QA/Validation, and load imposition.
eValid includes native capabilities that permit it to handle WebSite
features that are difficult, awkward, or even impossible with other
technical
approaches that are based on viewing a website from the Windows OS level.
eValid, as a Test Enabled Web Browser(tm), overcomes those limitations and
makes all website testing activities very straightforward.
Here is a summary of the main features of eValid, many of which are new in this release:
- Intuitive GUI on the browser to control all functions.
- Recording and playback of user sessions in integrated true-time and object mode.
- Editable recordings/scripts.
- Pause/SingleStep/Resume control to help check out scripts.
- JavaScript and VBScript supported.
- Special advanced features support Java applets.
- Extensive content validation options, including internal HTML document features,
selected text fragments, selected images, and all images and applets.
- Built-in event charts, timing charts, performance charts.
- Cache management (you can test without a cache or with an initially empty cache).
- Powerful load generation feature based on multiple sub-browsers.
- Wizards to create scripts to exercise all links on a page, push all buttons
on a FORM, and manipulate a FORM's contents.
- Secure zone recording support.
- Spread-sheet ready event file, messages file, errors file and performance files compatible with all popular databases.
- Performance timings to 1 msec resolution.
- Small runtime footprint: ~549 KBytes.

Restrictions and Limitations
Certain limitations exist in eValid for Windows NT and Windows 2000, as follows:
- Certain pages that use Page Transition Effects will fail to play back accurately.
Examples of page transitions that cause problems are "Blend" and "Random Dissolve".
- A mailto: instance is recorded by the test wizards as comments.
If you remove the comments eValid will perform the mailto: action
but this will require a manual intervention during playback.
- Instances of ftp: are recorded by the wizard as comments.
However, you can edit out the comment delimiters and make the ftp: live if desired.
If you remove the comments the ftp: will be played back correctly and the download
will proceed normally, but may require user interaction.
